About Pandit Rupak Kulkarni

A child prodigy, the journey from being Rupak Kulkarni to becoming Pandit Rupak Kulkarni has been metamorphical. His father, late Pt. Malhar Rao Kulkarni infused in him a love for the 'Bansuri'. By the tender age of 9, Rupak was accepted by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia ji as a disciple. An All India Radio Top Grade Artiste and empanelled as an Outstanding Grade Artiste by ICCR, Rupak has performed at almost all prestigious festivals, both, in India and abroad. Presently, Rupak heads the department of Flute at the Chinmaya University, helping hordes of youngsters fulfil their musical aspirations. Be it pure classical or World music, Rupak is a much sought after artiste. His dextrous playing, combined with his ability to create, have given rise to new ragas.
