He is an eminent guru and director at Shree Sharda Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bokaro Steel City. Tabla Maestro Pandit Bachan Pathak is also known as 'Pandit Bachan Maharaj' or 'Maharaj Ji' or 'Ram Bachan Pathak' amongst his fans. It is noteworthy that apart from Tabla, Pandit Bachan Pathak is also equally skilled in Pakhawaj, Hindustani Vocal and Dhrupad.
